ROLE On-site Event Manager

BRIEF Build and manage the global flagship event in a new format with a venue turnaround of only 3,5 hours

VENUE The Truman Brewery

DETAILS D&AD flew me in from Copenhagen to build and run their annual flagship event, the D&AD Professional Awards Ceremony, in London attended by approx. 800 of the world's top design and advertising creatives. The venue was being used for a conference till 3,5hrs before guests arrived for the drinks reception so we had a very tight turnaround.


After a brief handover and with a runsheet in hand I handled all logistics from bump in, reception and ceremony area builds as well as partner activation set up, through to guest arrivals, live event production, pack down and post-event reporting. My role was to direct and coordinate the many teams and suppliers involved in making the turnaround and live event happen. The teams worked amazingly hard, managed the turnaround in time and somehow were ready to welcome guests at the door with smiles on their faces!


FUN FACT A power cut in the kitchen when you're trying to serve hot food for 800 VIPs isn't a dream come true. But we sorted it and the guests never knew!

ROLE Lead Project Manager

BRIEF Come up with a new format for the launch of a restaurant guide that will position the publisher as the centre of knowledge for the Scandinavian gastro scene.

VENUE Copenhagen Hospitality College

DETAILS To celebrate the launch of a new restaurant guide the client wanted to establish themselves as a future-facing knowledge platform for the Nordic gastro industry.


To do this, we put 'knowledge' at the centre of the day by hosting a seminar with a carefully curated international speaker line-up that was widely promoted to the industry media. For the evening we flew in the most widely acclaimed female chef from South America to take Nordic cuisine into a new era by cooking a gala dinner for 150 VIP guests at the centre of the hospitality industry's future: the hospitality college.


FUN FACT Watching VIPs attempt to eat lobster in a non-messy, dignified way always makes for good entertainment.

BRIEF Organise a summer party with activities that allow staff to get to know colleagues from other regional offices without creating a competitive environment.

VENUE Old warehouse north of Copenhagen

DETAILS A financial services company wanted to host a summer party for their employees to let them know how much management appreciated them and let them have a good time while creating an informal environment in which they could get to know coworkers from other offices.‚Äč


To do this, we hired a BBQ Master and created an all-day outdoor luxury cooking class with champagne, grilled mussels, wood-chopping and of course - lots of dancing to finish off the day.


FUN FACT I obviously always plan for bad weather but I've always had a clear, blue sky and nothing but sunshine when I've hosted outdoor events. I reckon I'm good luck ;-)
